Internal hemmorhoid: When blood is seen on the stool this represents a low lying benign process representing either bleeding from an internal hemmorhoid or a bleeding fistula or superficial tear in rectal mucosa. Firm stool from constipation initiates the bleeding. Use stool softener like Colace (docusate sodium).
