6months is long time: Six months is much too long to be walking around with ear congestion or ear pain. Six hours is too long to have severe ear pain. One can see an ENT (otolaryngologist) doctor, or her primary care doctor. Because of the long duration of symptoms, an ENT visit may be more fruitful. If an ENT doctor is not available for a few days, a primary care doctor is fine to see first.
