Immediate?: Immediate means different things to different people. An otherwise normal, healthy person, who now has a skin infection plus multiple abscesses and fever should see her doctor today. If she has no primary care doctor, she can go to an Urgent Care clinic or an Emergency Room. The doctor will probably get a culture sample of the abscess or blood, and start antibiotic treatment.
