Ain't necessarily so: TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) is released by your pituitary gland at base of your brain because it 1) senses too little thyroid hormone (T3,T4) from your thyroid gland or 2) it is being overstimulated from above by the hypothalamus or 3) there is a tumor in the pituitary or the hypothalamus causing overproduction.
