A member asked:

Is it safe to use sodium ibuprofen for patients with cardiovascular disease ? please could i get a study taking about this ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends.: All of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can cause sodium retention. If you have heart failure this retention can push you over the edge and precipitate acute dyspnea. Other forms of heart disease - coonary heart disease for example can certainly tolerated low dose nsaids intermittently.
