UTI vs STD/STI: Sexually transmitted diseases/infections (STDs/STIs) can present w/painful, frequent, urgent urination, just like urinary tract infections (UTIs). So you tested negative for UTI but it doesn't sound like you got tested for STD/STI. Once treated, make sure you use condoms in the future. And be sure to warn your partner, too.
