Further evaluation: Irritative voiding symptoms (frequency and urgency) result from spasms of the bladder muscle and can occur with infection but also bladder cancer and an overactive pelvic floor that can increase bladder “twitchiness”. A dropped bladder and pelvic organ prolapse may contribute to symptoms as well. You should have a physical exam, urine cytology, cystoscopy and possibly bladder behavior testing.
