I have a black line on my nail and by doing research online it says it can be cancer. i need advice and how to tell if that's it or what it could be.

It depends: Black line under/on the nail can sometimes be caused by Melanoma(a type of Cancer). In that case it will be changing and growing over a period of few weeks. if it is changing, then you must see your doctor for further examination and to find out what it is. How long have you had it? Have you had any trauma to your nail?
