A scrape heals: depending on the depth, size and location. When a scrape removes the outer layers of skin, new skin will form in the bottom and heal from the bottom up....it looks pink and raw. When the scrape removes all the layers of skin, new skin forms on the edges of the wound and heals in to the middle. This looks white at first and fat cells may be visible. This takes longer to heal.
