Both?: Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent; amlodipine is a calcium-channel modulator. So far you've mentioned only one cholesterol medicine. What is the other one you are referring to when you write "both"?

It sounds like you: are on the right track. Often, following a stroke, you are placed on some form of blood thinner--the clopidogrel. Obviously your blood pressure still needs controlling; the amlodipine is for this. The cholesterol question is a little bit trickier, especially at 72. Even if your cholesterol hasn't been that high in the past, after a vascular event, lower is better. Fibrazate is a reasonable choice.
