What could cause bright red, jelly like blood in 12 week old's diaper? (looked like he ate tomatoes.) he is breastfed, if that helps.

Milk protein allergy: The number one cause is milk protein allergy, however you need to have this examined to rule out other causes. Your doctor may tell you to take out milk dairy and soy from your diet. We encourage breastfeeding. See your physician as soon as possible for an evaluation.

I would add that " current jelly stools" are diagnostic and you need to have your child seen by a pediatrician immediately
