Yes: Visible blood in a baby's stool is a cause for concern. Sometimes, they can feed from a mother's cracked or bleeding nipples but swallowed maternal blood should be digested. Visible blood is a sign of lower intestinal or anal/rectal bleeding and should be evaluated by a qualified professional right away.
