Yes: The most accurate values are usually obtained rectally with a rectal thermometer. Other newer methods are usually not reliable for infants. One wonders about the reason for repeated temp. checks. If you have a concern about baby's behavior, appetite, sense of well being or if baby has symptoms that are of concern then a check up with her pediatrician will be safe, even if her temperature is normal
