A member asked:

I know that not getting enough fiber can cause constipation, but can not eating enough food in general cause conatipation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Eating sparsely as well as a low residue diet may cause constipation because of lack of adequate bulk in the diet. If you have a significant change in bowel habits see your physician or a gastroenterologist as colonoscopy would be indicated even as a screening procedure at your age.
