Depends on the germ!: Did the doc do a culture of the pus? Did he say you had a staph infection? Wound infections are usually due to Staphylococcus or Streptococcus species or strains: and there are many species of both. Some species are resistant to some antibiotics that the others are sensitive to, so it depends. Most strains of either one are sensitive to Cefzil (cefprozil). If if doesn't work, culture it again.
