A member asked:

I had a very bad case of mono about a year ago, even after a year can it still make my immune system weak and vulnerable?

Possibly: You should be checked for chronic EB ( Epstein-Barr) viral infection or immunodeficiency .

No, not likely: Mono does cause infection in the Lymphocytes but the infection clears up in a matter of few weeks and the Lymphocyte count(these are the immune cells) return to normal within 4-6 weeks. Your immune system should be normal by now. So get your mind off of it and live a normal life.
