See below : First, rule out infection with urinalysis, urine culture, pelvic exam, appropriate vaginal cultures (BV, yeast, STD screening if applicable). Next, rule out 1) atrophic vaginitis (estrogen loss) or 2) contact dermatitis" from chemical substances: creams, douches, condoms, foams, laundry detergents, soaps, scented toilet paper, fabric softeners, etc. If negative, see both a urologist and gyne.
