A member asked:

My daughter has autism she is 7 she is very repetitive with her speech and behaviour is there any medications that could help this thanks ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No medication: Although doctors have tried medications thinking these could be related to OCD, there hasn't been much success. The language is due to problems developing original speech, so she relies on phrases that somehow connected with her. The behaviors can be related to sensory needs, a means of self calming or a means of understanding their body and world. Speech and OT can help expand her skills.
