No. : One of the critical characteristics of small cell carcinoma is that they are fast growing. Other types of non-small cell cancer can be slower growth rate

Related Cancer: The answer to your question is no. But there are closely related cancers of the same cell origin (Kulchitsky Cells) that are much more slow growing and might be mistaken for Small Cell Lung Cancer if biopsy is cytology or has few cells. Those cancers are Carcinoid Cancer or Atypical Carcinoid Cancer.
