Ortho Evaluation : Your symptoms of catching suddenly sound structural, meaning that you likely have a cartilage injury to either the undersurface of your kneecap (patella) or the opposing surface of the trochlea. A thorough orthopedic evaluation will help when the weather not you need advanced imaging beyond xrays, such as an MRI.
