A member asked:

Mrsa hand infection near the thumb tendons. is this very risky?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not life-threatening: BUT, very important none-the-less to get excellent treatment. You SHOULD be seeing a hand surgeon (Orthopaedics subspecialty) -and if not, insist on 'why not'? Obviously the hand is extremely important, and any loss of function is very bad. MRSA is a 'bad bug' when you think of all the germs that are out there. With good treatment though, you should be able to recover just fine. Hope u get answers
