Not necessary: If you wouldn't ordinarily give her diphenhydramine to help her sleep you shouldn't need to now. Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain was a good idea. If however you needEd to give diphenhydramine, say she had a violently itchy rash, you certainly could. Be aware that in some children, diphenhydramine has the opposite effect and they get hyper. Not the effect you're trying for.
