Too many calories: High blood sugar means Insulin is not transporting glucose into your cells. When blood sugar is controlled all the food you eat is getting into your cells. If there are too many calories, weight goes up. Once sugar is controlled your calorie needs go down and you must adjust your calories accordingly.
