I punched a wall almost 3 weeks ago and x-rays came back negative. still swollen and my middle knuckle area still hurts. is this normal?

Possible fracture: Sometimes a broken bone (fracture) doesn't show up right away on an xray, so it is still possible that you have a fracture. I would recommend getting it xrayed again.
