Normal: Combined Oral Contraceptives (COCs) help patients with PCOS prevent hyperplasia (overgrowth of uterine tissue) and promote regular menstrual cycles. However, it can take several months for this to occur, and in some PCOS patients may not lead to normal menstrual cycles. However the COCs are still reducing endometrial cancer risk and may improve acne and hirsutism (facial hair) in PCOS patients.
