I had an mri of my neck yesterday and afterwards realized that the tech let me leave my jeans on with a metal button and zipper. was this potentially ?

No problem: Not dangerous. What happens with the metal is that it can disturb the images but the tech probably looked at them when you were done and deemed them ok. No worries!
