Doxycycline: It is important to decide if you have chronic folliculitis or adult onset acne. Consider other treatments which might include Retin-A cream, topical Cleocin solution or Benzaclin (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) gel. Also address any issues with oral contraceptives and their role in acne. Consider seeing a dermatologist, or even oral Acutane.
