HSV likes stress: Herpes is a nasty virus, and takes advantage of us when we are 'weak' -such as after some kind of stress. Herpes also loves to come out in the same area -so it could well be HSV again. Sometimes a bacteria (Staph) will attack the eyelid-this would be a sty and is quite painful. If it's not getting better, I would show it to a doctor who could help with directed therapy: antiviral or antibacterial
