Tooth abcess: It is important that you see your dentist ASAP. The drainage and the penicillin will not cure you infection. You need to have this treated by a dentist. Warm salt water rinse will encourage drainage but is no substitute for dental care. Follow the directions that your dentist gave you when they prescribed the antibiotic.

Abscess: Antibiotics and drainage will control, not cure, an abscess. Do NOT discontinue antibiotics prematurely. Get to Dentist ASAP for definitive treatment as soon as possible.
