A member asked:

How can someone have a high a1c result and normal glucose reading?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The A1C measures: your glucose continuously over the past 3 months. So one glucose reading can be normal but you are spiking above normal at times if your AIC is high. Think of the A!C as an average glucose overr the last 3 months. If it is high, you are having some abnormal sugars.
