A member asked:

My question is, is it normal to bleed during/after sex? i know i don't have any sti's i get checked and i had my pap test and it came up fine

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not normal: Bleeding with sex is not normal. It usually is due to some lesion on the cervix and need not be due to sexually transmitted infection. Since it requires an internal examination, it would be prudent to see your gynecologist. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
