See below: The most important course of action is make sure the diagnosis of UTI is correct by obtaining both a urinalysis and urine culture (C/S). The latter will verify if a UTI is still present, identify the specific bacteria, and identify which antibiotics it is sensitive to. There are other conditions which can mimic a UTI. If recurrent UTI, further testing and long-term antibiotics may be necessary.
