3.5 yrs I presume: I am not sure about the context of the question, however a 3.5 yr old should be able to show age appropriate social reciprocity. If there is any concern you might harbor about your child's developmental skill, I will like to encourage you to consult with any of the developmental pediatricians in the network. Mgt: Children at this age are interactive but they do have tantrums. Scheduling a time out for a set period of time such as 10 minutes can help to modify this behavior. If the problem is that she is not interactive during quiet periods, I would suggest discussing an evaluation for Autism with your PCP.

It isn't Normal.: At 3 1/2 years old, your daughter should be interacting with you and with others around her. If you haven't done so, you should see if her doctor have her evaluated by a Developmental Pediatrician. I will also refer your question to one in HealthTap. She should be able to guide you.
