Hi, i'm looking for an expert opinion on the mechanism of etoh on cniii (oculomotor nerve). many sources denote mydriasis to be present over miosis.

My comments: Am somewhat surprised you would focus on cranial nerve III---have you developed a problem with that nerve? The acute effect of alcohol is to suppress most brain functions, but it is not specific to autonomic fibers. If while drinking your emotions become excited, your pupils will dilate, a bit, but doubt it would be profound. Lastly, if you have a problem, schedule Concierge visit.
