A member asked:

When someone has active wheezing from asthma are their lung funtion lower than their normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It goes the other way around. A person who is wheezing from asthma has partial obstruction to the airflow when he is breathing, and therefore will get lower than normal results on lung function testing. The testing measures the lung problem, and thus shows lower function when the lung is functioning lower.
