Get an X-ray: Although a jammed finger can take 4-6 weeks to not have any soreness, it is recommended to get an x-ray of your thumb at this point to make sure there isn't a broken bone. After 2 weeks, with this much pain with normal activities, you absolutely need to get an x-ray. You may also benefit from a wrist splint that immobilizes your thumb.
