Yes: Be careful when eating or drinking during the first 24 hours. Definitely do not rinse during this time. Brush very gently on that side for a couple of days.

Follow instructions: When one follows the instructions given to patients following the extraction of teeth, the chance of developing a dry socket is actually very small. Do not rinse, sip through a straw, or spit out for the first 24 hours. Try to eat on the other side of your mouth and keep the area clean with gentle rinsing, brushing and flossing after the first day.
