Keep elevated: 19y/o Female hit left knuckle on doorknob about half hr ago, icing it but still swollen, somewhat numb & sore. These are expected body response for the acute injury described. Continue with icing on and off over the next 24hrs while awake, but do NOT freeze your hand. Keep elevated and avoid using it over the next day or so. OTC analgesics if needed. Should become less painful w time Expect Bruise

Can you bend: your finger fully without pain? If so,there probably is no fracture.. Continue to ice knuckle and followup with your Dr if not better in several days.
