"Can" do that: Can also blow smoke out your ear...(the perforated one)...Neither that, nor smoking is good idea or good for you. Perhaps this can be the reason you atop smoking and juat don't pick up again when healed?

Best to stop: Medically you can do it, but cigarette smoking predisposes to ear issue in many people. It's possible if you quit smoking you will stop having ear problems. Also, if you eventually need surgery for this issue, smoking puts you at greater risk of anesthetic and increased chance the surgery won't be successful. It's hard to do, but the very best thing you can do for your health is quitting.
