IgE: It is usually the specific IgE to foods which is important for diagnosing an allergy. . IgG4 response to food only indicates exposure to that food. None of the antibody tests can establish intolerance , just allergic responses. The quantity of IgE must be large enough to be significant. In general skin testing is more sensitive but both tests complement each other.

No: There is no test that is available that is valid for food intolerance. IgG testing to food has never be validated to identify food intolerances. IgG to food is normal.
