Limited pain: Microfracture surgery is minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and is usually tolerated very well. Pain is very subjective, so pain that is 1/10 to one person may be an 8/10 to someone else. That being said, arthroscopic microfracture surgery is usually less painful. The majority of my patients will be off of narcotics after a few days and using over the counter medication to relieve pain.
