Quads not firing: Does that me you cannot extend you leg? Kick your foot straight out in front of you from the hip with a leg straight and hold it up?
Patellar fractures may be associated with patellar tendon rupture and if you had this your knee would feel less stable and swell and you would not be able to extend your leg.
