Anticoagulation: Length of anticoagulation therapy or warfarin depends on if your heart rhythm is regular(sinus) or irregular(atrial fibrillation).If it is regular then most of surgeons would stop warfarin after 3 to 6 months & start you on aspirin, however if it is atrial fibrillation then you would need it for life long & would require constant monitoring with pt/inr blood tests.
