A member asked:

Hi, i started ritalin (methylphenidate) and it almost immediately put me in a partly conscious catatonic sleep. i am also on 75 mg lamictal. is this normal?

Of course not: No medication should do that to you. The dosage of lamictal is relatively low and that reaction is not common for Ritalin (methylphenidate). You should obviously stop the medication, get a complete physical evaluation and once you are stable , rethink you medication regime with your doctor.

Do not delay: You are surely having an adverse reaction to the ritalin, (methylphenidate) and it is best you either adjust dose or find alternative medication.
