A member asked:

I was diagnosed with bpd and ocpd, but how can i have both? i thought they were opposites; bpd being impulsive and ocpd being obsessed with order.

Confusion?: Dx - esp ln Mental Health can be confusing. One is a personality style and the other is a 'disorder'. They do sound opposite, but don't have to be. BDPs might not be impulsive and not all OCDs care about order. You may still be right to doubt either or both Dxs. Consider alt opinions and know that neither has a clear Tx, so it may not matter. Seek Tx w/ a therapist you feel you can trust. Best!
