Impaired immunity: Since the pneumococcal vaccine contains 23 strains of bacterial allergens, I would presume that you did not have sufficient response to this vaccine. A protein conjugated pneumococcal vaccine is more immunogenic but also covers only 13 instead of 23 strains of pneumococcal infection. If you continues to have sinus or lung infection, then gammaglobulin replacement may be needed.
