YES: I suggest immediate ER evaluation for any right lower abdominal pain. This could be from an infection or a kidney stone, but a CT scan and ultrasound will make a diagnosis along with an immediate examination.

Question the doctor: You're right-you want to make sure u get the correct diagnosis here, since appendicitis can be pretty bad. Hopefully the doc gathered the appropriate information from your history, physical exam and lab tests. If you have a kidney infection-I would expect some findings in the urine and definite tenderness with percussion over your kidney. For the right lower quadrant pain, that needs investigation
