Stitch or glue: If the skin is spread apart it will likely heal much better, and with less scar formation, if it gets closed by sutures, butterfly, or wound glue.

Will heal fine: Putting stitches in will likely leave more of a scar than just letting it heal. If you have a band-aid that can gently pull the edges together, you can feel free to do this. In our office we would put something on called steri-strips, that are fancy doctor band-aids. But if you just leave it, it's going to heal fine. Gently clean daily with antibacterial soap.

Take him to the doc.: Have a doctor who is experienced in suturing or is in a clinic where one is available, take a look at it. Nothing alarming, but more for cosmetic reasons- if still open and it gets infected, your son can have a scarred forehead permanently.
