What is IM? : Not sure what 'IM' means in this context. Gastritis is common & can be triggered by another illness. Chronically it can lead to ulcers. If you are already taking an acid suppressing medication (Prilosec, Zantac, (ranitidine) etc all available over the counter) then talk to a doctor or use Healthtap Prime to get advice.
