Many reasons.: It is not uncommon to have two periods in a month or to skip a period. If the cycle returns to normal on its own then I would not worry. If the problem persists then you will need to get checked out. Weight loss, weight gain, increased exercise, increased stress and hormone imbalance are examples of the many possible causes of abnormal bleeding.
